Fasli Roj Bahman Mah Bahman

Today is Fasli Roj Bahman, Mah Bahman – the Zoroastrian Day of respect for Gospands. Generally speaking, Gospand – derived from Avesta Gao Spenta, is translated as beneficent cattle. This superficial translation, however, does no justice to the important role played by one of the most important types of Ahura Mazda’s creations, which occupies a place of respect throughout the Avesta scriptures. The Gathas are replete with references to Gao Spenta, ...

Those who may still not believe in what is written above or who may still be drawn to these sprites can try one more test. Is the worship of Paria Mai allowed in our religion – part 2

Posted by:

Roj Hormazd Mah Ardibehesht, 1384 Yz.

Readers may question as to why Abed Sahebs and other advanced souls can take the help of the Ulvi Arvahi but not normal Parsis. The answer is that the advanced souls have methods by which they can repay the favour owed to the Arvahi by enhancing their (the Arvahi’s) spiritual development whereas the normal Parsi has no way or method of repaying the obligation to the Arvahi and hence gets trapped on the journey towards ...

The internet is a wonderful thing in the sense that sharing of information about almost any subject has become instantaneous and easy. Posted by:

Roj Behram Mah Spendarmad, 1383 Yz.

Several readers of Frashogard have asked the question as to how should the name of a deceased person be taken while doing any prayer for them. But the question arises in other normal prayers which one may wish to recite in the memory of our deceased persons.

For example, many readers of Frashogard ...
