Roj Ashtad Mah Meher, 1382 Yz.
I am happy to announce the details of the 12th Salgreh celebrations of the Ustad Saheb Behramshah Nowroji Shroff Daremeher.
The Shahenshahi Salgreh of the Daremeher will be celebrated on Roj Khorshed Mah Ava, Tuesday 26th March 2013, with Machi offerings throughout the day and a Salgreh Jashan at 10:30 am.
The Fasli Salgreh of the Daremeher will be observed on Fasli Roj Adar Mah Fravardin, Friday, 29th March 2013. Normal Machi offerings throughout the day and a Salgreh Jashan at 10:30 am will be performed.
A special program has been arranged for the evening of Friday, 29th March (which is also a bank holiday, being Good Friday).
At 6:30 pm, a public function will be held on the grounds of Behram Baug. After Humbandagi, the Trustees of the Zoroastrian Radih Society will say a few words. Thereafter, I will speak on the following topic: “Aapro Dharam to baal kartaa baarik” – the story of Shah Mahmud, Dastur Ardeshir Kermani and the Parsis of Ghazni.” The talk entails the telling of a historic event which happened nearly 1000 years ago, and which has been preserved in our ancient writings. It is from this incident that the saying in Gujarati: “Aapro Dharam to baal kartaa baarik” arose.
After the talk, at 8 pm, we shall release the book: “Who killed Prophet Zarathushtra? Some Zoroastrian Riddles answered through Ilm-e-Khshnoom”. This book is a collection of various essays which I had written and posted here on the Frashogard blog. The book has been printed with a view to further expand and spread the message of Ustad Saheb to the Parsis of the world and to place before a wider audience the divine knowledge of Khshnoom.
After the book release function, patrons will partake of a dinner catered by well-known gourmet chef Mr. Kurush Dalal.
All readers of Frashogard are invited to the talk, book release and dinner function. The dinner tickets have been priced at Rs.300. Children below 7 are free. Due to the limited number of people we can seat, only a few tickets will be available for outside sale. Those readers desiring to purchase tickets for the function can send me a mail at: [email protected] indicating their veg or non-veg preferences.
