Very few books were written by the Master himself. Here we present some of them.
bird’s eye view of ilm-e-khshnoom
The very first book brought out by Ustad Saheb, gives, in very brief but deep words, the outline of what Ilm-e-Khshnoom really is. Explains the fundamental concepts of the Zoroastrian religion. Essential reading for every student.
A very small but very deep booklet which first revealed to the Parsi community the meaning behind the making of the Sudreh, the reasons why the Sudreh should hae nine seams, why the style of t he ladies and gents Sudreh were different, the thought processes to be passed whilst wearing the Sudreh and many other intricate details. Great, simple and essental reading.
Original Iranian Education System
A brilliant book by the Master which undertakes a review of the present education system borrowed from the British and compares it to the original Iranian education system. The book offers deep insights into what real eduction really should be and the fundamental concepts of Bun – seed, shir – mother’s milk and Audan – the Zoroastrian atmosphere in which a child should be brought up in. Very essential reading.
4 days’ ceremonies & the state of the Ruvan thereafter
A very short book written by Ustad Saheb and then greatly enhanced by the addition of 5 footnotes by Dr. Saheb, this book gives in very graphic detail the state of the Ruvan at the time of death and thereafter and the progress of the soul in the regions of Chinvat. Very interesting reading in a simple format.
Fasli Roj Mah calculations
In this very slim volume of only 22 pages, Ustad Saheb explains the basis of the Fasli Roj Mah calculations. Ustad Saheb reveals that Fasal, which was generally translated as season, is not so but rather the spiritual force which gives rise to seasons. To understand this concept properly, Ustad Saheb explained the inner working of the Gahambars and the cosmic influence they have. Finally the Master reveals the two different streams of blessings which descend on the earth during the Gahambars and how we can earn our salvation through them.
The function of Sarosh Yazad in the cosmos
A short but powerful book detailing the role of Sarosh Yazad in the Cosmos and His specific role in the progress of man – both in life and after death.
What is Frashogard
This is the most technical, abstruse and difficult article ever written. Dictated by Ustad Saheb for the fifth volume of Frashogard magazine, it is perhaps the only written record of the way in which the Master used to speak. From this volume, the cover of Frashogard magazine had a special picture depicting what Frashogard is. Using what is technically known as “Ustadi zabaan”, the Master starts from the period where there was no time, and starts the recounting of the “Tanasuli silsila” the spiritual order and hierarchy through which the process of unfoldment of creation began. This very short article of only 7 pages has one massive paragraph, spanning over four pages, punctuated by endless commas! So difficult is the language in the article that out of about 200 words, 149 words have been given explanatory footnotes! The total length of the footnotes goes on to another 40 pages! This article was so difficult to understand that nothing much could be done, but wait – for another 20 years! On the 25th Anniversary of the Frashogard magazine, a special issue was brought out by Ervad Phiroze Masani. In this issue, Dr. Saheb Chiniwalla tackled the small article of Ustad Saheb, which was reprinted in this volume, along with the footnotes. Then Dr. Saheb takes up a massive 147 pages to explain what the 7 pages of Ustad Saheb meant. This is a great series to read and understand. Very difficult but very interesting!
Khordeh Avesta ba Tarikat
Ustad Saheb’s personally written Khordeh Avesta, over 1000 pages long. Along with the daily prayers (which we have not included in the scanned version), Ustad Saheb gave detailed notes about what is prayer, the efficacy of Manthra, the rules to be followed while praying, what is the normal Farajyat prayer for a Parsi in each Gah, rules regarding praying in the north, rules to be observed by women during menstruation and many more topics. The book is enhanced by a detailed list of technical words at the end. Great reading
Rules of cleanliness to be followed during menstruation & after prgnancy
Ustad Saheb revealed that behind the universal laws, found in all religions, regarding mentruation, there exists a deep scientific rationale. He explained the concept of ‘Druji-e-Buji’ that is, the spiritual contagion which occurs when a woman enters the state of menstruation and the dangers this poses, not only to the lady herself, but also to those around her. Despite some heavy technical language in the beginning, the Master lays down 17 clear, unambiguous rules to be followed during these days. Essential reading.
